SWIP are happy to announce that we have chosen Black Country Women’s Aid as the Charity of the Year. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to make a positive impact on our community and give back to those in need.
We have gathered all the nominations, and our board carefully reviewed charities suggested by our employees and the reasoning behind each choice taking into consideration the diversity of perspectives and the potential impact of the chosen charity on our community.
Black Country Women’s Aid is an independent charity focused on supporting survivors of abuse and exploitation in the West Midlands for over 30 years. Their much-needed sensitive and holistic support helps over 9000 victims of abuse each year.
A few of the services provided by the organisation:
- Safe refuge for women and children escaping domestic violence and modern slavery.
- Community and at-court support for survivors of domestic abuse, stalking, and sexual violence.
- Therapy and counselling to help rebuild lives.
- Support for female offenders and women with complex needs.
BCWA is a charity that offers crucial support to some of the most vulnerable people in society, and their services are a lifeline for many. The team at SWIP is honoured and looking forward to supporting the work of BCWA.
