In 2022, SWIP introduced the INTELLO Plus Intelligent Vapour Control membrane to the SWIP Internal Wall Insulation (IWI) system. It is a vapour diffusion variable that allows up to 100 times more moisture vapour to pass through when humidity is high. Consequently, it provides industry-leading protection from moisture-related damage.
Effective from the 1st of October 2023, the INTELLO Plus Vapour Control membrane will be a mandatory specification in very severe and severe UK exposure zones. This is done to further reduce the risk of surface or interstitial condensation in these areas.
SWIP has reviewed the UK postcode areas on the BRE exposure map, and where a part of the postcode area falls into the very severe or severe zones, the entire postcode zone has been deemed to require the Vapour Open INTELLO membrane as the Vapour Control specification.
